Kelly Ripa is done keeping up appearances. The “Live With Kelly and Ryan” host, 49, has been very candid about the trials of tribulations of continuing to film her talk show from home during the coronavirus crisis, but she may have hit her breaking point during Friday’s episode.
When co-host Ryan Seacrest brought up negative comments the duo have received in regards to their on-air hair and makeup, Kelly Ripa clapped back.
“First of all, let me just say, to people commenting on our appearance: How dare you and you’re lucky that we actually put clothes on,” she said. “It’s harder than you think to roll out of bed and come to a TV show.”
Ripa added that she isn’t letting the feedback upset her. “I don’t care. I have a new outlook on life,” she said. “Certain things don’t matter anymore and my appearance is one of those things that just don’t matter.”
She also admitted that some days, she considers filming the show from her laptop in bed.
Seacrest, however, was not shy in admitting that he applies bronzer and makeup every day at home to look his best on-air. The 45-year-old even pulled out the Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powder ($54) from his drawer to prove it.
Ripa has been letting viewers in on her quarantine life, including showing off her gray hair, wearing daughter Lola Consuelos’ clothes and self-tanner and having the 18-year-old do her hair and makeup.
