A brand new animation based on the Change myth in China will be co-produced by Netflix and Pearl Studio, under the name as "Over the moon".

The main plot of the movie will be a journey of a 13-year-old girl on his way to find Chang'e on the moon.

Glen Keane, former characters designer of Disney will has her first chance of directing a long animation, It started with a little named Fei Fei lived in a crowded family without her mother. After hearing the myth about Chang'e who lived on the moon and been waiting for love, she then decided to build a rocket so that she could use it to fly to the moon and meet Chang'e. The path into the universe wasn't that easy, Fei Fei quickly caught in some troubles and finally landed on Lunaria - a colorful planet and fulled of mysterious creatures.

Over the moon is inspired by traditional myth Chang'e - The moon fairy in Asia, particularly in China. The East and the West combined and created the unique feature of the movie. In the trailer which was released on Jun 23, Fei Fei was having a meal with her family on a round table, drinking boba, presented a typical Millenium image that has never been seen in any international animation movies before.

According to Collider in the press conference of the movie, Keane expressed his excitement when visiting China for more information about the context. He had a chance to experience the bustling life and the warm atmosphere in the family. Although everyone is living a modern life, having a meal with their family is always the most precious thing they couldn't miss. That's why it's one of the most important scenes to emphasized the conflicts in the whole movie or each act's characteristics.
