Daisy Ridley thrilled young fans as she took part in special reading of children’s book Star Wars: BB-8 On The Run to thank them for staying indoors amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The British actress, who plays Rey in the science fiction franchise, celebrated her 28th birthday by filming the clip for Disney, who shared the reading session via Twitter on Friday (April 10, 2020).

The story follows droid BB-8 during the events of movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, after being separated from his master, Poe Dameron, as he comes across Daisy’s character, who decides to help him return to the Resistance’s base to give them the secret map that leads to Luke Skywalker.

The star also shared her gratitude to those helping fight the global health crisis, adding: “Thank you to everyone staying at home and thank you to everyone out on the frontlines helping those in need. Please accept my tiny offering of gratitude in the form of storytelling.
