Don Jon (2013)
People who watched this 2013 film might ask why it made the list because Brie Larson literally only spoke about 20 words in the movie. However, those short lines are really valuable. Brie Larson plays the younger sister of Jon, Monica, who always on the phone and completely ignores everything going on around her.
But Monica turned out to be very thoughtful and was the only one in Jon's family to see the true face of her brother's girlfriend. After Jon broke up, his parents immediately scolded him but Monica was willing to defend Jon and make very convincing arguments.
Train Wreck (2015)
Brie Larson plays Kim Townsend, a character based on the real-life sister of the writer and lead actor Amy. Throughout the film, Kim has the opposite role to her younger sister: the responsible person - while Amy is a party girl.
But their relationship actually has a lot of emotions, especially in the scenes with their father, of whom the two sisters have a completely different view. It's difficult to play a person who is closely related to the movie (Kim Townsend is a co-writer and producer of Train Wreck), but Brie Larson's acting totally convinced Kim and the audience.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010)
The 2010 comedy starring Brie Larson as Natalie Envy Adams, the glamorous ex-lover who dumped Scott and left him forever attached. After breaking up, Envy went on to become the lead singer of the successful band The Clash at Demonhead, meaning Scott still had to see her face plastered everywhere.

United States of Tara (2009-2011)
Before becoming a big-screen star, Brie Larson participated in the Showtime's comedy series called 'United States of Tara'. The actress plays the teenage daughter Kate Gregson of the main character Tara. In the beginning of the series, Kate is exactly like most teenage characters on TV: selfish, innocent and thought she was wiser than her mother.
But over the course of the three seasons, Kate has grown and changed dramatically by transforming sad emotions and insolent attitudes into empathy, care and responsibility. The first time Brie Larson got critics to sit up and take notice was in this 2013 independent film. She plays the role of Grace, a woman who has dedicated her life to supervising a group home for adolescents who are difficult to fit into the society.
When a new teenager arrived, Grace had a special relationship with her because their struggles were very similar. The film gathered positive reviews and especially received a 98% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
21 Jump Street (2012)
Brie Larson plays a student who is attracted to Jonah Hill's character even though he already has a lover. Although Hill and Channing Tatum completely conquered the audience and were the main comedian, Brie Larson still stood out amid the crazy chaos in the movie. Brie Larson really proves herself to be able to adapt to all kinds of roles and '21 Jump Street' also became the best comedy in 2012.
Free Fire (2016)
This is a rare action movie that Brie Larson participated in that many critics saw as a blend of 'Resevoir Dogs', 'Lock', 'Stock' and 'Two Smoking Barrels Read'. The film itself is fun, dramatic and has a bit of a thrill in it. It is about a meeting between two gangs to buy and sell guns but things quickly become a chaotic battle due to lack of mutual agreement.
Brie Larson is the only woman among the men in the battle and of course, her role in the film is as crazy as the men with many incredible dangerous situations.
Rampart (2011)
Woody Harrelson in the film plays an LA police officer with all sorts of bad habits: corruption, conservatism… He even lives with his two wives and his children have to learn to live with their half-siblings. Brie Larson plays one of the protagonist's children and has a memorable, moving conversation with her father. It was in that rare moment, the good qualities of the policeman got to shine.
