In today’s world, fashion doesn’t have to be divided into “male” and “female” categories. This belief has been slowly but surely making its way into the K-Pop industry, and BIGHIT MUSIC‘s boy group TXT has been in the forefront of the movement!

When the boys released The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE, their second studio album, they wore beautiful white outfits adorned with ruffles and lace. What arguably stood out the most, however, were Yeonjun‘s clothes.

He donned a long, flowy dress—something that’s rarely seen in men’s fashion, much less among male idols.

When asked about this, Rakta, the head of BIGHIT MUSIC’s Visual Creative Team, revealed that their aim was to present the members as “ragged princes” who needed to be protected. They concluded that the best way to express this concept was to break away from the usual idea of a prince.

To accomplish this, they decided to center the theme on genderless fashion. They used crochet and lace “reminiscent of rococo costume and torn dresses” for the boys’ costumes, and it turned out beautifully!

The boys proudly wore the clothes, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans of the group. For example, last year, Yeonjun sat down for an interview with Vogue Korea and discussed his views on the topic. He boldly stated, “Who’s to decide whether something is women’s or men’s clothing?”
