TWICE Jeongyeon Worries Fans after Losing 8kg, Appearing to be in Pain on Stage

Recently, TWICE appeared on the music show "Inkigayo" to promote their latest comeback, "Alcohol-Free."

While many were happy to see TWICE finally perform as nine members on a music show, member Jeongyeon caught people's eyes after she appeared to be in pain throughout the performance.

As she was dancing, Jeongyeon was seen visibly wincing as she powered through the performance. Fans also noted that throughout the performance, Jeongyeon's expression was stiff, a stark contrast to her other members, who appeared lively as they sang their new summer song.

At one point, Jeongyeon is even seen biting her lip as if she was holding back pain.

Many recalled how during TWICE's comeback premiere for "Alcohol-Free," Jeongyeon revealed that she had lost 8kg (17.6lbs) for this comeback.

Previously, Jeongyeon had put on some weight due to the medication she was taking for her herniated disc and anxiety disorder.

While most ONCEs did not comment on the weight gain, Jeongyeon stated that she wanted to return with a bright and beautiful image.

Many initially complimented her weight loss and dedication, but plenty of her supporters are now worried that her weight transformation could negatively affect her health.

As she appeared breathless and in pain during her "Inkigayo" performance, ONCEs hope that Jeongyeon takes care of her well-being and focuses on staying healthy rather than staying slim.

However, the pain could have been caused by Jeongyeon's previous injuries.

Back in early 2020, Jeongyeon sat out TWICE activities due to a neck injury. Jeongyeon revealed she was diagnosed with a herniated disc in a live stream while they were promoting "More & More" and was undergoing hospital treatment in secret.

In Oct. 2020, Jeongyeon took a hiatus from all activities. Her label, JYP Entertainment, announced that Jeongyeon was suffering from psychological anxiousness and needed time to undergo professional medical measures and get sufficient rest.

While her injury was not mentioned, fans believed it was a factor that played into her hiatus.

Get well soon, Jeongyeon!
