BTS's "Dynamite" is the Most-Liked Music Video by a K-Pop Group of All Time
Taking the title of "most liked music video by a Korean group of all time" is BTS with their Aug. 2020 release, "Dynamite."
According to Forbes, "Dynamite" has racked up 27 million likes on YouTube and is close to breaking the 28 million views mark.
Surprisingly, however, the title for the most-liked music video by a Korean musician of all time is tied between BTS and another large musical act.
Did you guess who it is? It is Pinkfong, the Korean musical entity that brought to us "Baby Shark!" While they are not a proper band, they are included in the rankings as they do create music. "Baby Shark," like "Dynamite," has racked up 27 million likes on the video platform.
Any one of them could pull ahead and surpass 28 million likes!
The second most-liked music video by a Korean musician goes to BTS once more. The boy band's music video for "Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)" has been liked by 22 million people.
The music video has appeared on K-Pop Radar's "Weekly Top 10 Music Videos" chart for weeks now, and it is speculated that the number of likes will only increase as millions of people watch the video weekly.
BLACKPINK Makes History as the First K-Pop Girl Group to Have a Music Video Surpass 20 Million Likes
Earlier this week, on Monday, May 3, BLACKPINK made history as the first K-pop girl group to have a music video surpass 20 million likes on YouTube. The girl group's Jun. 2020 release, "How You Like That," is the first music video in K-pop history to achieve this feat.
It is highly likely that the next music video from the girl group to achieve this milestone is "Kill This Love."
Currently, over 19 million people have liked the video, which means they need less than one million people to give the video a thumbs up to have the girl group break another record.
If "Kill This Love" does end up surpassing 20 million likes, they will join BTS as the only K-pop group to have more than one video surpass 20 million likes.
These are the K-Pop Music Videos that Surpassed 20 Million Likes
1. BTS - "Dynamite"
2. Pinkfong - "Baby Shark"
3. BTS - "Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)"
4. PSY - "Gangnam Style"
5. BLACKPINK - "How You Like That"
