Members of EXO, BLACKPINK, IU, and BIGBANG G-Dragon were chosen as the “Most Influential Korean Stars” on Weibo! But surprisingly, the three highest positions are all EXO members.
In the year-end ranking released by “Weibo Power Star,” numerous K-pop stars were honored as the most popular Korean personalities in China particularly on Weibo, the biggest social media site of the said country. And ranking at the top 3 is EXO members - Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Sehun

In the list, Chanyeol reigned as No. 1 “Most Popular Foreign Star” on Weibo. In particular, the male idol and rapper from EXO secured his thrown, after topping the chart for six months last year.
Amazingly, aside from the foreign list, he also entered the overall ranking at No. 5 as the only Korean artist in the Top 5, proving his extensive fame and influence in the foreign country.
Chanyeol gained huge popularity in China as an idol and actor, as aside from making it big in the mentioned country as an EXO member, he was also loved by several fans after acting in the Chinese-Korean film, “So I Married an Anti-Fan,” co-starring Yuan Shanshan and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun.
Meanwhile, Chanyeol’s co-members Baekhyun and Sehun also entered the list, ranking No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Along with them, BIGBANG G-Dragon also claimed his spot at No. 4, while Korean actor Lee Jong Suk completed the Top 5.
IU continues to showcase her popularity in China, as she topped the list of the most popular overseas female entertainers in 2020 released by China’s social networking service Weibo.
In a related article, JYP Entertainment acknowledged the achievement of 2PM’s Nichkhun who topped the “Popular Foreign Star” list selected by Weibo as well.
The Thai-born K-pop idol truly reached his peak of popularity, as he earned the title “Asia Prince” due to his wide success in Asia.
Nichkhun remained at the top of the monthly Korean Wave chart in Weibo from September to December last year. This chart is updated to reflect actual data figures in Weibo, and Nichkhun once again showed off his strong local influence.
IU, who began to gain popularity in China after appearing in the 2016 drama “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” began to make inroads into China that year by holding a fan meeting.
Since then, she also held her concerts in China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, and became the talk of the town when she topped the list of popular entertainers on Weibo in May.
