On Jan. 4, Rolling Stone India revealed the 21 best K-pop music videos of 2021, according to its staff members. The list includes MVs from OnlyOneOf, SHINee Taemin, TXT, and more!

OnlyOneOf's 'Libido' Chosen as the Best K-pop Music Video of 2021 by Rolling Stone India

Despite the negative reactions about the song, OnlyOneOf's "Libido" MV was selected as the best K-pop music video of 2021. "Libido" serves as the main track of the boy group's third mini-album "Instinct Part. 1," which was released in April.

The "Libido" MV presents OnlyOneOf depicting romantic same-sex relationships, with the members split into two couples and a love-triangle. Rolling Stone India described the choreography of the song as the most "risqué" as it includes physical touches like vocalist Nine touching vocalist KB intimately (which caused an outrage among conservative viewers when the group performed "Libido" live on domestic music shows).

OnlyOneOf surprised many - not only their fans - with the concept and performance of "Libido" as the title of the track means sexual impulse, sexual instinct, or sexual drive. But, according to the group, Libido" depicts relationships that are typically hidden in many conservative societies like South Korea.

While there were some criticism surrounding them, OnlyOneOf was praised for representing individuals that are part of the LGBTQ+ community and being brave enough to break boundaries while creating meaningful conversation.

SHINee Taemin's 'Advice' Selected as the Best K-pop Music Video by a Male Soloist in 2021

"Advice" is the title song of SHINee Taemin's third solo EP "Advice," which is his last music release before he enlisted for mandatory military service in May 2021.

Rolling Stone India considered "Advice" as another top example of Taemin's "emotional and versatile artistry," but this time the male soloist focused on frustration.

They also cited some scenes in the "Advice" MV that are "particularly powerful," including the part where the SHINee member crashes the car he's driving and gets surrounded by glass fragments in slow motion, and the impressive transition that zooms in to his eye and then through a locked door and into a room where he sits alone.

Of course, Rolling Stone India applauded SHINee Taemin's dance moves that were seen in his "lightning-fast choreography."

They described his control over his body "outstanding," which was visible when he dances from faster moves to slow.

TXT's '0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)' Selected as Another Best K-pop Music Video by a Male Group in 2021

Another male group music video on Rolling Stone India's "Best K-pop Music Video of 2021" list is TXT's "0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)." This track is the lead single in the quintet's new full-length album "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE."

This rock-themed song is centered on the perspective of a hopeless romantic, who believes love will save him from the chaotic world.

The magazine mentioned the "0X1-LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)" being packed with Easter eggs and references to TXT's previous eras.

They also narrated the story shown in the music video, starting with Yeonjun escaping his troubled reality and concluding with Yeonjun waking up in a deserted lot all by himself, which leaves viewers wonder whether all the events were just a dream.
