BLACKPINK Lisa & (G)-IDLE Miyeon to Appear on Mnet's 'Kingdom' + Mnet Releases Statement

According to several media outlets on May 11 KST, BLACKPINK's Thai member and dance extraordinaire, Lisa, and (G)-IDLE's main vocalist and visual, Miyeon, will be making a special appearance in the third round of Mnet's reality television program, "Kingdom: Legendary War."

There have been several comments circulating that in recording for an episode last week, Lisa captured the scenes with her unique and unrivaled charms, and with a top global star's appearance on the show, it is expected that "Kingdom: Legendary War" will be gaining more audience and traction.

In addition, media outlets have reported that Lisa and Miyeon will be joining their labelmates, iKON from YG Entertainment and BTOB from Cube Entertainment, respectively, in the third round of "Kingdom: Legendary War," for their "No Limit" stage performances.

In the "No Limit" round, the program's cast will be given no restrictions for their performances and will have a chance to obtain up to 40,000 points.

Following reports of BLACKPINK's Lisa and (G)-IDLE's Miyeon making a special appearance to aid their fellow labelmates, "Kingdom: Legendary War" released a statement neither denying nor confirming the reports, saying, "Please find out watching the broadcast."

Although Mnet's statement is vague, many fans are excited and anticipating to see the surely amazing performances of BLACKPINK's Lisa and iKON, and (G)-IDLE's Miyeon and BTOB.

Meanwhile, the third round, "No Limit," is scheduled to air on Mnet on May 27, KST.

"Kingdom: Legendary War" Cast and Crew Tests Negative in COVID-19 Results

On May 6, KST, a backup dancer in "Kingdom: Legendary War," tested positive for COVID-19. Following the reports, all of the cast and production crew of the program underwent self-isolation and testing as a precautionary measure and as per health protocols by the government.

The following day, on May 7, it was revealed that all of the production crew, as well as the cast: Stray Kids, ATEEZ, BTOB, SF9, THE BOYZ, and iKON, have received negative test results and subsequently returned to their scheduled activities.

However, SF9's Yoo Taeyang, iKON's DK, and THE BOYZ's Juyeon were revealed to have had close contact with the backup dancer, hence, they will be continuing with self-isolation for the next two weeks until May 18 KST and will be canceling their scheduled activities for the time being.

Kingdom: Legendary War is a television program that currently airs on Mnet beginning April 1, 2021, on every Thursday at 19:50 (KST). It is known as the male counterpart of Queendom, and the sequel of Road to Kingdom.

The program is a battle behind six trending K-pop boy groups. The program features 4 rounds of performances, with the final round being broadcast live. The winner of the show will get a reality show specially for the winning boy group, plus a "Kingdom Week" special show.

ITZY is the latest K-pop girl group to chart on the Billboard 200. Their latest extended play, "Guess Who." entered the Billboard 200 chart at number 148, making it the girl group's first-ever appearance on the list.

It is the fifth highest-peaking album by a Korean female artist to break into the chart. ITZY is the eighth female K-pop act to debut on the chart.

Additionally, "Guess Who" ranked at number 164 on the Rolling Stone Top 200. The extended play's title track, "Mafia in the Morning," ranked at number 56 on Spotify's Global Top 200 Chart. This is ITZY's highest-charting song on Spotify's chart.

Itzy is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment, consisting of members Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. The group debuted on February 12, 2019, with the release of their single album, It'z Different. The group's commercial success has led to them earning several new artist of the year awards, including Rookie of the Year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards and Best New Female artist at the 2019 Melon Music Awards and the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

LOONA's 2020 extended play, "[12:00]," debuted and peaked at number 122 on the Billboard 200 chart. It is the fourth highest-peaking album by a Korean female act on the said chart.

LOONA is the seventh female K-pop act to break into the chart. Additionally, they are the first artists from a small to mid-sized South Korean entertainment company to appear on the chart.

Further, "[12:00]" appeared on the Billboard US Heatseekers Albums chart at number one, the Billboard US Independent Albums Chart at number 23, and the Billboard US World Albums

Loona is a South Korean girl group formed by Blockberry Creative. The group was introduced to the public through a pre-debut project which began in October 2016, where each of the twelve members were revealed in a periodic fashion by releasing a promotional single over the following eighteen months. They debuted as a full ensemble with the extended play, [+ +] (2018), supported by the lead single "Favorite" and the title track "Hi High".
