As 2021 is about to end, American music magazine Consequence of Sound revealed the K-pop acts that took over the year, with IU, ENHYPEN, TWICE, aespa, and more making it to the list.

American online magazine Consequence of Sound revealed a list of K-pop acts that dominated this year. The list considered acts that incorporated a harmony of standard-raising production, choreography, and total performance.

Moreover, the most important fact to consider is the act's musicality, and many artists find an interesting way to achieve both.

Without further ado, these are the K-pop artists who have taken over 2021 (in random order)

ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN is already making its name for being an impressive fine-tuned boy group. They released the viral hit "Fever" from their album BORDER: CARNIVAL EP, and the first full-length studio album, "DIMENSION: DILEMMA."

aespa

Along with aespa's debut is their remarkable storyline. The girl group has caught on this year with their great music, considering that they just debuted in 2020 with their single "Black Mamba."

STAYC

The song "STEREOTYPE" by STAYC offers a pitch-perfect hyperpop sound. The girl group had an exciting year, although they are still finding their sound. Even though they came from an underdog label, STAYC makes their way up the charts.

ATEEZ

This boy group kicked things into a higher level in 2021! They showcased explosive performances, which brought them a lot of new fans. ATEEZ released more music this year and ended it with the final EP, "ZERO: FEVER EPILOGUE."

Stray Kids

The eight-member boy group had a lot of big moments this year, including releasing an album that earned them the title of "million-seller." They also received love from international stars like Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

Further, they released their title song "Thunderous" from the album "NOEASY" and it immediately made their fanbase larger.

IU

IU is the Korean soloist who is loved both in South Korea and all over the world. She makes her performance look effortless. She made a comeback this year with her dreamy single "Strawberry Moon."

IU has been in the industry since she was just a teenager, and she has grown and evolved in her career and more achievements are coming for her in 2022.

MONSTA X

MONSTA X had been experimenting and they seem to be confident and comfortable with it. They released their second all-English album "THE DREAMING," which proved that MONBEBEs (MONSTA X fandom) are hungry for more music from the boy group.

Their track, "One Day," which was released in September, has been making rounds on American radio. However, their latest release, "You Problem" is what offers the boy band-throwback feel of the album.

MONSTA X will return with a string of live performances in America, and a concert film will give MONBEBEs a look at some of the behind the scenes moments.

The group's playfulness and endless enthusiasm make it easy to see why they are still famous for many years.

Chung Ha

Her time in Texas has specifically paved a way to Tejano music. Moreover, it's the way that Chung Ha incorporates elements from the sub-genre that makes Querencia interesting.

Chung Ha has been in demand for a while now, and ther full-length debut as a solo artist has strengthened her as an essential artist in the K-pop landscape. Her song "Bicycle" is fantastic, but her other track "Dream of You" (with R3HAB), is one of the best dancehall bops of 2021.

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN have been releasing multiple mini-albums in their "Power of Love" series in 2021. Their 9th mini-album, "Attacca," is their fourth pandemic-era release.

Two of this year's releases, "Your Choice" and "Attacca," have both debuted at the top spot of Billboard's Top Album Sales chart for selling over a million copies each.

CARATs (SEVENTEEN fandom) still can't get enough of "Attaca" lead single, "Rock With You."

TWICE

TWICE wins the battle of ticket sales for selling out all the US concert tickets immediately after launching its pre-sale. It only indicates that the pandemic has not slowed the dynamic group's momentum in the K-pop industry.

Since their debut, the girls have been making lots of hit singles and breaking records left and right.

Their all-English track, "The Feels," became the the most addictive chorus in K-pop in 2021, and it certainly has a lock on being the most popular piece of choreography this year.

"The Feels" has marked TWICE's all-English debut to great success.
