BLACKPINK may be professional singers, but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy having fun informal karaoke setting! Though they don’t go karaoke so often, it’s always a memorable time when they do.
When it comes to Jisoo, karaoke is meant to be fun and exciting with instruments and cheers. She gave a taste of it in an episode of 24/365 with BLACKPINK where she acted as a newbie who needed to impress her “boss”.
In Lisa‘s Penshoppe TV interview, she explained that she’s slightly different from the others. Though she’s the charismatic rapper and dancer of the group, she’s more mellow in karaoke rooms. In her case, she never really sings, unlike her members.
I don’t really go to karaoke, but when I go, I don’t really sing. I just dance along. My members just sing all the time.
— Lisa
If she had to choose one song to perform, however, she shyly said that it would be their own debut hit “BOOMBAYAH” because of how fun it is to dance along to.
I think it’s weird to say, but…’BOOMBAYAH’?
— Lisa
As for the people they go to karaoke with, Jennie said in the eleventh episode of 24/365 with BLACKPINK that her friends love playing jokes on them.
When I go to singing rooms with my friends, they ask me to dance to our songs as a joke.
— Jennie
