The ceremony was hosted by STAYC’s Sieun, NCT’s Doyoung, and JaeJae, after Super Junior’s Eunhyuk withdrew due to testing positive for COVID-19.
The performer lineup originally included NCT 127, NCT DREAM, STAYC, Kang Daniel, THE BOYZ, Red Velvet, Brave Girls, SHINee, Standing Egg, Oh My Girl, Lee Mujin, Lee Chan Won, Lim Young Woong, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, and Homies. While part of the ceremony was pre-recorded, many artists withdrew from attending the live event due to various issues.
THE BOYZ withdrew after some members tested positive for COVID-19. Kang Daniel withdrew after one of his dancers tested positive. Brave Girls withdrew due to Yuna’s poor health (Minyoung was already on hiatus for health issues). Oh My Girl did not attend because someone on one of Hyojung’s variety shows tested positive for COVID-19.
