The annual Billboard Music Awards (also known as the BBMAs) is live tonight from Las Vegas. Ahead of the formal ceremony, Billboard has begun to announce a few of the winning artists.
BTS received their first nomination at the 2017 BBMAs in the Top Social Artist category, which they won. They have been the winning act in that category for the past 6 years and are also nominated this year.
BTS previously announced they would not be attending this year’s awards due to their busy schedules. Last year, they could not appear in person at the award show due to COVID-19 safety guidelines. Instead, they pulled off a stunning virtual performance of their hit song, “Butter.”
BTS is nominated for seven awards in six categories for the 2022 BBMAs, here are the nominations:
Top Duo/Group– Won
This ties BTS with One Direction for the most wins in this category.
Top Selling Song, “Butter”-Won
The group was nominated in this category for both “Butter,” and “Permission to Dance.”
Top Song Sales Artist– Won
Top Billboard Global Artist/Excluding USA- Nominated, TBA
Top Billboard Global Song/Excluding USA- Nominated, TBA
BTS’s song “Butter” is nominated for the award.
Top Rock Song- Nominated, TBA
BTS and Coldplay‘s song, “My Universe,” is nominated for the award.
