BTS Jungkook's 'Euphoria' Achieves No. 1 Spot For Korean Male Solo Song on Spotify
On December 2, Spotify revealed BTS Jungkook's solo song "Euphoria" achieved 300 million streams on Spotify. It is the first and only song by a Korean male soloist and the only B-side track by a Korean artist to reach 300 million streams on the largest music-streaming platform.
Moreover, "Euphoria" has beaten Psy's worldwide hit "Gangnam Style" as the "Most Streamed" among Korean male solo songs on Spotify. The song has been rising to the top and now it has written a new history in the K-Pop industry.
"Euphoria" is a song from the BTS' album "LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer," released by the Global K-Pop group in August 2018.
'#EuphoriaMostStreamedSolo' Trends Worldwide Once Again
On Twitter, "#EuphoriaMostStreamedSolo," "TOP MALE SOLOIST JUNGKOOK," and "CONGRATULATIONS JUNGKOOK" are trending once again in celebration to the K-Pop idol's achievement.
Other than Spotify, "Euphoria" has been on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Char, maintaining K-pop's global status by ranking first in the chart for the longest period of time among other K-pop idol solo songs.
Last July, "Euphoria" topped the World Digital Song Sales Chart, which shows its reverse popularity.
"Euphoria" is the first Korean male idol solo song in the US, where it is hard to succeed without any promotion.
Along with its fame, BTS Jungkook's "Euphoria" became one of the OSTs of the popular American drama "Euphoria," which gives more decoration to the ending scene of its last episode.
In addition, "Euphoria" obtained streaming silver certification from RIAJ (Recording Industry Association in Japan), and recorded more than 300 million digital points as a group solo song first on the Gaon chart.
The track was released around five months after its pre-release, and ranked second in the highest ranking among other solo songs on iTunes in the United States. It also ranked at the fifth spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and 12th on Digital Song Sales, the highest record for all songs except for the title song.
