BTS Permission to Dance on Stage

"BTS Permission to Dance on Stage" took place for four nights, from Nov. 27 to 28 and Dec. 1 and 2, where the septet met more than 200,000 fans overall. This is the band's first offline concert in two years since their Seoul concert "2019 BTS WORLD TOUR LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF THE FINAL."

Previously, SoFi Stadium announced that tickets for BTS' four LA concerts were completely sold out, making the K-pop boy group the first act in the stadium's history to sell out four shows.

According to Billboard, the four-night show sold 214,000 tickets and grossed $33.3 million. Those figures make BTS's SoFi Stadium shows the highest-grossing event since venues started re-opening this year.

Moreover, it is the biggest gross for a course of multiple shows at a single venue in nine years since 2012, when Roger Waters gained $38 million over nine concerts at Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Further, Billboard revealed that "BTS Permission to Dance on Stage" scores the largest U.S.-based Boxscore in 18 years, the biggest ever in California, and the second-largest in the 30-year-plus history of Billboard Boxscore in North America, following Bruce Springsteen's run of 10 shows at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford in New Jersey ($38.7 million).

Overall, BTS' four LA concerts at SoFi Stadium recorded the sixth-largest gross in the history of Billboard Boxscore. A "Boxscore" is a report of all shows that an artist holds at one venue during a leg of a tour, or the whole tour.

This achievement is made more impressive considering that BTS did not primarily perform in English as the septet is a Korean boy group after all. Billboard stated that this was a first for a non-English-language act to cross $20 million gross in one marathon, much less $30 million.

Along similar lines, Luis Miguel holds the record for the largest Spanish-language Boxscore, obtaining $19.3 million from 30 shows at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City back in 2006.

Congratulations to BTS on yet another historical milestone with their "BTS Permission to Dance" concerts!
