Kang Seung Yoon from WINNER and Lee Chan Hyuk from AKMU participated in the making of TREASURE Bang Ye Dam’s new single ‘WAYO’.
YG Entertainment uploaded a new poster for Bang Ye Dam’s first single title on their official blog at 9 AM KST on May 28.
The name ‘WAYO’, which was unveiled on the day, along with the dim poster atmosphere, raises questions about what stories and hidden meanings it contains. But the thing that leads to greater expectations is the lyrics and composition of ‘WAYO’. This is because WINNER Kang Seung Yoon and AKMU Lee Chan Hyuk, who are senior singers of YG and have been outstanding in writing and composing songs, have made their names on the lineup.
Kang Seung Yoon took part in the passionate writing and composing of ‘WAYO’, while Lee Chan Hyuk helped write the lyrics.
YG said, “Thanks to the enthusiastic support of senior singers for Bang Ye Dam, who has been dreaming of debuting as a trainee for seven years, we have created good music that can be addictive even when you hear it just once,” adding, “It is a song that combines the unique sweet vocals of Bang Ye Dam and beautiful lyrics and melodies.”
The rookie’s solo song will be released at 6 PM KST on June 5. This is part of the TREASURE debut project, which is about to take place in earnest activities. YG once explained, “The song is released as his surprise gift to fans in June before debuting as a member of TREASURE.”
Bang Ye Dam, the main vocalist of TREASURE, appeared in ‘K-pop Star Season 2’ in 2012 and finished runner-up at the age of 11 before honing his musical skills at YG for about seven years. He participated in the ‘YG Treasure Box’ and showed off his outstanding skills as a ‘genius vocalist’ throughout the competition, and was finally selected as a TREASURE member as he ranked first in the vocal position.
