VICTON agency has announced an update on their legal action against malicious rumors and defamation.

On April 6, the agency released the following statement:

Hello. This is Play M Entertainment.

Following the release of a notice in January about legal protection for our artists, through the continuous submission of information from many fans as well as our own monitoring, we have confirmed many malicious posts online that harm the VICTON members’ reputations through acts such as malicious slander, personal attacks, and the spreading of false information.

We reviewed the documents required in order to take legal action, and on April 6, through the law firm Wonil, we filed a criminal complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station for slander and contempt by those who had uploaded malicious posts about VICTON.

The harm to the artist became more severe as the actions of these malicious commenters became harsher day by day, and we plan to take strong action and show no leniency. We will also continue to take strong legal action based on information submitted by fans and our own monitoring.

We ask you to continue to show a great amount of interest and love for our agency’s artist VICTON, and we will do our best to protect the rights and interests of all the artists under our agency.

Thank you.

VICTON is a seven-member group that debuted in 2016 under Play M Entertainment, which is also home to artists including Apink, Huh Gak, Lim Jimin, and BANDAGE. VICTON most recently made a comeback in March with “Howling.”
