A YouTube channel recently made a video summarizing the popularity of each BTS member in 13 different countries, with data collected from Google, Twitter and many other polls on big social networks, from January 2015 to August 2020. Through the analysis, the rankings have been formed, showing which members are the most popular and least popular in each country.

It is easy to see a clear difference between the maknae-line and the hyung-line in the results. Jungkook, V and Jimin (the maknae-line, i.e., the younger members) are regularly in the top 3 most popular members, while Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and RM (the hyung-line, i.e., the older members) share the 4 positions in the bottom half of the chart.

J-Hope was ranked last in 12/13 countries (excluding Japan). There is only one country where a hyung-line member gets to the top of the chart, which is the United States.
