On October 6, BLACKPINK's 'THE ALBUM' was officially released. Since this is a highly anticipated album of the 4 YG girls, it surpassed 1 million pre-orders - the highest pre-order number ever recorded for a K-Pop girl group. And now, the album made history again with its massive first-day sales.
Specifically, Hanteo Chart confirmed that on the first day of its release, 'THE ALBUM' had sold 590,000 copies. With this, BLACKPINK not only set a new record for K-Pop girl group in terms of first-day album sales, but also beat the achievements of many other male artists.
