The actor is currently gearing up for the premiere of Backstreet Rookie,” the upcoming drama from SBS about the unpredictable love story between convenience store owner Choi Dae Hyun (Ji Chang Wook) and part-time employee Jung Saet Byul (Kim Yoo Jung).

In the interview, Ji Chang Wook said, “I’m playing the owner of the convenience store. He has a comedic side, and he lacks confidence. He can be a little petty and indecisive.” The interviewer remarked that this was different from the actor’s public image and Ji Chang Wook replied, “There’s a small part of me that’s like that as well.”

In particular, Ji Chang Wook said, "The first time I thought about becoming an actor was when I was in high school. Without any special opportunity, I thought the acting profession looked great so I wanted to do it". He also, "When I was in my third year of high school, I had a huge fight with my parents because they opposed my decision to apply to the acting department in the university. They started to acknowledge me when I started making money".

In addition, the interviewer (a singer as known as CopyChu) said, "Ji Chang Wook not only participated in musicals with great singing ability but also participated in all 9 OST songs". He also asked the actor if he participates in Backstreet Rookie's OST and offered to write a song for him in the drama. Ji Chang Wook then took him by surprise by revealing that he knows one of Copychu’s songs and singing it for him.

On the other hand, the new Friday and Saturday drama series "Backstreet Rookie" (SBS) will air its first episode in June 12.
