Starring actors Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung in “Backstreet Rookie” has been drawing keen attention even before the show.
Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung will play the role of "Choi Dae Hyun," a convenience store manager, and the role of "Jung Saet Byeol," a part-timer at the convenience store.
This drama is a drama decided by Global Channel LifeTime as the first investment work in Korea, and Taewon Entertainment will start production. Producer Lee Myung-woo from SBS, who directed "The Fiery Priest," took the megaphone.
SBS' new Friday-Saturday drama "Backstreet Rookie" which is scheduled to premiere in the third week of June, is expected not only in Korea but also around the world due to its spectacular casting that combines popularity and box office success and the production of director Lee Myung-woo.
Ji Chang Wook, who looks like a cartoonist who came out of a comic strip explode the "real excitement" with Choi Dae-hyun, a store manager with a fluffy to unexpected charm. Kim Yoo-jung, an "actress you trust," will try to transform her acting by Jung Sae Byul, a part-timer at a four-dimensional convenience store who not only has fresh charm but also has bold action. It is expected to capture the hearts of viewers with its unique charm to be shown in the 24-hour unpredictable comic romance.
Backstreet Rookie is also a new feature of Kim Yoo-jung. In the second teaser video released earlier, Kim Yoo-jung showed a hot kick, signaling a strong appearance. She also scolded the bad high school students and fired a "strong Yoojung" pose.
Especially, the tough kick left a strong impression on prospective viewers. In response, Kim Yoo-jung said, "There are a lot of naked actions. I went to an action school for the first time, and I'm having so much fun preparing for it," she said, raising expectations.
Meanwhile, LifeTime will start producing investment for Korean dramas, starting with Backstreet Rookie. LifeTime, which aims to produce more than three dramas by the end of this year, plans to introduce Korean dramas that have both cinematic quality and popularity through global channel networks and take the lead in globalizing domestic content.
