According to the data, here’s how many impressions (potential views) and how much earned media value (the estimated monetary value of social media interactions) each artist brought in.

10. Irene (Red Velvet)

In September 2020, Red Velvet’s Irene was announced as one of the new ambassadors for Prada. As of June 2021, she’s accumulated 65 million impressions for the brand and generated an earned media value of $1.98 million USD.

1991–2014: Early life and career beginnings[edit]

Irene was born Bae Joo-hyun on March 29, 1991 in Daegu, South Korea.[1] Her family consists of her parents and a younger sister.[citation needed] She attended Haknam High School in Daegu.[2] She joined SM Entertainment in 2009 and trained for five years.[2]

On December 9, 2013, Irene was one of the second batch of trainees introduced as a member of SM Entertainment's pre-debut training team, SM Rookies, alongside former trainee Lami and now-NCT member Jaehyun.[3] She also appeared in the music video of labelmate Henry Lau's song "1-4-3" several months prior.[4]

Various clips of Irene were released in SM Entertainment's official YouTube channel, one of which included her and Seulgi dancing to "Be Natural", a song originally performed by SM Entertainment's group S.E.S., showcasing their dancing.[5]

In March 2017, Irene partnered with actor Kim Min-jae for the portrayal of two lovers in the MV of Red Velvet's SM Station ID "Would U".[15]

In July 2019, SM Entertainment announced that Irene would be collaborating with South Korean DJ and producer Raiden on the track "The Only", which was released on August 2.[16]

On April 20, 2020, SM confirmed that Irene, alongside member Seulgi, would form Red Velvet's first sub-unit.[17] Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi debuted on July 6 with the extended play Monster. 2016–2019: Pre-debut activities[edit]

Ningning was introduced as a member of SM Rookies on September 19, 2016. As part of it, she appeared on the Rookies Princess: Who's the Best? segment of the program My SMT in 2016, and recorded several covers for the Korean animated TV program Shining Star in 2017.[4]

Karina appeared in labelmate Taemin's music video for the song "Want" in February 2019 and performed with him on several music programs in the weeks following.[5][6]

2020–present: Introduction, debut with "Black Mamba", "Forever", and "Next Level"[edit]

On October 26, SM Entertainment announced that it would be debuting a new girl group, the first since Red Velvet in 2014 and the first overall idol group since NCT in 2016.[7][8] The members were revealed individually from October 27 to 30 (in order: Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle) along with the name Aespa.[9] A further explanation about Aespa's concept was offered by SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man at the 2020 World Cultural Industry Forum, held online on October 28.[10] A video trailer with all four members was revealed on November 2.[11] On the same day, the agency announced that Aespa will release their debut single "Black Mamba" on November 17.[12] The group made their broadcast debut on KBS2's Music Bank on November 20 where they performed their debut single.[13] The group also reached number one on the K-pop music video charts of China's biggest music-streaming service, QQ Music for three consecutive weeks.[14] On January 17, 2021, Aespa received their first ever music show win for "Black Mamba" on Inkigayo.[15]

On January 29, 2021, SM Entertainment announced Aespa will release a new single titled "Forever", a remake of a single by Yoo Young-jin, released for SM Entertainment's holiday album Winter Vacation in SMTOWN.com in 2000.[16] The single was officially released on February 5, 2021.[17] The song was described as a mid-tempo ballad with an acoustic guitar sound and warm lyrics about promising forever to a loved one.[17]

On May 4, 2021, SM Entertainment announced that Aespa would be making a comeback later that month.[18] Their third single "Next Level", was released on May 17.[19]

Early life

Park Chanyeol was born in Seoul, South Korea. He attended Hyundai High School in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul. He has a sister named Park Yoo-ra, who is a former announcer at South Korean broadcasting station YTN,[2] and at MBC. Chanyeol was admitted to a private acting institution when he was sixteen years old, where he became good friends with Block B's P.O.[3]

After watching School of Rock in elementary school, Chanyeol became interested in music and he soon began playing the drums.[4] Chanyeol wanted to be a singer after listening to Unconditional Kismet by Yoo Young-jin.[5]

Chanyeol has cited Jason Mraz and Eminem as his biggest influences, though he was a fan of rock bands like Muse, Green Day, Nirvana, and X-Japan in middle school.[6]

Chanyeol became a trainee under SM Entertainment after winning second place in the 2008 Smart Model Contest. While training under S.M., he began to turn his focus towards rapping. Prior to his debut, Chanyeol made cameo appearances in TVXQ's "HaHaHa Song" music video and Girls' Generation's "Genie" music video in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

Career

2012–14: Career beginnings

Chanyeol became the last Exo member to be officially introduced to the public on February 23, 2012.[citation needed] He possesses a baritone singing voice.[7] The group official debuted on April 8 with the extended play Mama. He made a guest appearance in Girls' Generation-TTS's music video for their debut single "Twinkle". In October 2013, Chanyeol joined the cast of SBS' reality TV show Law of the Jungle during its filming in Micronesia.[8] He also composed and recorded an original soundtrack titled "Last Hunter" for the show in 2015 after rejoining the show.[9]

In 2014, Chanyeol wrote the rap for the Korean version of the track "Run" from Exo's second extended play Overdose and was featured in label-mates Henry's second extended play and Zhou Mi's debut EP.[10][11] In May 2014, he became a regular cast member of the first season of SBS' reality TV show Roommate. He left the show in September 2014 due to schedule conflicts.[12]

2015–present: Acting, songwriting and Exo-SC

In April 2015, Chanyeol made his big screen debut with a supporting role in the South Korean film Salut d'Amour, which starred Park Geun-hyung and Youn Yuh-jung.[13] He later starred as the male lead alongside actress Moon Ga-young and fellow Exo members in the web-drama Exo Next Door.[14] In June 2015, Chanyeol, along with fellow Exo members Chen and Lay, co-wrote the Korean version of the track "Promise" from Love Me Right, the re-released version of Exo's second studio album.[15] He later wrote the rap for "Lightsaber", Exo's promotional single for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was subsequently included in their third extended play Sing for You.[16]

In April 2016, Chanyeol wrote and performed the rap for the song "Confession" from Yesung's debut extended play.[17] In Exo's third studio album Ex'Act, which was released in May 2016, he co-wrote the lyrics for the track "Heaven".[18] In June 2016, Chanyeol starred alongside Yuan Shanshan and label-mate Seohyun in the South Korean-Chinese film So I Married an Anti-fan. He and Yuan Shanshan also recorded a duet titled "I Hate You" as the theme song for the movie.[19] In October 2016, Chanyeol and American R&B singer Tinashe were featured in American hip hop group Far East Movement and American electronic musician Marshmello's song "Freal Luv".[20][21] In December 2016, Chanyeol and South Korean singer Punch collaborated on an original soundtrack titled "Stay With Me" for tvN's drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.[22] The song reached number three on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart.

In January 2017, Chanyeol played a supporting role in MBC's drama Missing 9.[23] In February 2017, it was reported that he had allegedly registered himself as a music producer under the pen name "LOEY" with the Korea Music Copyright Association.[24] Later in February, Chanyeol collaborated with South Korean singer Junggigo on a duet titled "Let Me Love You".[25]

In May 2018, it was announced that Chanyeol would be playing the supporting role of Jung Se-joo, Hee-joo's younger brother in tvN's drama Memories of the Alhambra.[26]

On September 14, 2018, Chanyeol with fellow Exo member Sehun released a collaborative single, "We Young", for SM Station X 0.[27]

On April 25, 2019, he released his first solo song "SSFW" through SM Station.[28] On June 28, it was confirmed that Chanyeol along with his fellow Exo member Sehun would debut as the group's second official sub-unit Exo-SC, and they released their first EP What a Life on July 22, 2019.[29][30]

In 2021, he appeared in musical road film The Box, a jukebox musical containing familiar popular songs from world music as; Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and Pharrell Williams in the backdrop of South Korean locales.[31]

Personal life

Along with fellow Exo members Suho and Baekhyun, Chanyeol attends Kyung Hee Cyber University and takes online classes for Culture and Arts Department of Business Administration.[32] Chanyeol is currently attending a graduate school at Inha University where he's taking an interior designing course.[33][needs update]

As of March 29 2021, Chanyeol has enlisted for compulsory military service.
