For the second half of the year starting this August, boy groups are having comebacks one after another — heralding a summer war in the K-pop scene.
As a result, K-pop enthusiasts and the music industry are focused if which group will dominate the month with their much-awaited releases!
ASTRO, Golden Child, TXT & More Proves Position as 'Next Generation Boy Groups' with Their Latest Releases
Earlier on the 2nd, Golden Child and ASTRO made a comeback side by side, opening the door for this month's competition.
Golden Child, who introduced their second full-length album, "GAME CHANGER," met fans' expectations with more mature music.
As for ASTRO who graced fans with their new EP, "Switch On," debuted at No. 1 on Gaon's Album Chart. They also proved their rising popularity as they topped the terrestrial music show "Music Bank" for the first time since its debut on the 13th.
Along with them, THE BOYZ, which made a comeback on the 9th, broke its own record with sales of 520,000 copies in its first week.
ONF also made a comeback on the same day with "POPPING," receiving positive feedback for its summer release.

In addition to the aforementioned boy groups, TXT is no longer BTS's younger brother group, but the "first TXT." They cemented their unique identity with its new album, “The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" and title track “LO$ER=LO♡ER."
Speaking of identity, CIX continuously builds their own music as well, going back and forth between freshness and intensity with their latest song, "WAVE."
Stray Kids, CRAVITY, MIRAE & More Join August Comeback Lineup to Challenge 'Summer King' Position

The August comeback lineup is already filled with top-tier male teams, but CRAVITY will be joining them with its first full-length album, "The Awakening: Written in the Stars," on the 19th.

Stray Kids is also receiving high anticipation for their comeback, as they will finally return as an 8-member group with Hyunjin. The group's second studio album, "NOEASY" will kick off this 23rd.
On the same day, Verivery “SERIES ‘O’ [ROUND 2: HOLE]” will also be released, together with MLD Entertainment's new group T1419, a junior group of MOMOLAND who will release its third single album, "Before Sunrise Part.3."

Lastly, MIRAE, a boy group introduced by DSP Media in nine years, will also make a comeback in five months after their debut album. The wild concept photo for "Splash" raises fans' expectations and can't wait for its release on the 25th.
